  • Visa: US passport holders need the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), a short online application with a fee, approved before travel; your advisor will tell you when to apply. Good to Know

  • The EU's biometric entry system records a photo and fingerprints on first entry to the Schengen area. Hotels are confirmed with your final documents; if a property changes, the replacement is of the same category. European hotel categories are not standardized against US ratings: rooms are usually smaller and many hotels occupy historic or older buildings, some in outer districts. One checked bag up to 50 lb (23 kg) plus a personal item. Airlines assign free seats subject to availability, seats together are not guaranteed, and some carriers charge for seat selection. Half of the tour price is due 91 days before departure and the balance 45 days before; the deposit and both payments are non-refundable, and a medical exception can be requested through your advisor without guarantee. Business-class fares are available on request and must be paid the day they are quoted. Travel insurance is recommended. If you use a wheelchair or have reduced mobility, talk to your advisor before reserving so we can review the options.

By coach and ferry. On January 2 the group drives to Dover, crosses the Channel by ferry to Calais, and continues by coach into Belgium to Bruges and Ghent. The crossing is included.

Can I depart from a city other than Miami?

Yes. The included airfare is Miami to London, returning from Amsterdam. If you live in another US city, your advisor quotes flights from your city to London and back from Amsterdam, or from your city to Miami to join the included flights, and the rest of the tour stays the same.

What travel documents do I need for the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands?

A US passport valid at least six months beyond the return date with two blank pages, sent as a copy when you reserve. The UK requires an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for US passport holders, a short online application approved before travel. In London, January 1 is entirely free: Covent Garden and its street performers, the museums of South Kensington, or the South Bank along the Thames. On December 31 the afternoon is free, with an optional excursion to Windsor Castle. In Amsterdam, the afternoon of January 4 is free for the canals, markets and cafes, or the optional excursion to Marken, Volendam and the polders. Travel insurance is recommended for this tour: the deposit and both payments are non-refundable, and your advisor can quote a policy when you reserve.
